Here you decide how your shop is named, charges, ships and speaks. Most values you set once and then forget.

  • Most areas have their own save button. Under Taxes, every change is saved right away.

General

The General area holds your shop’s name, address and logo. You choose the theme under Website theme.

  1. 1Shop Name: what families see as your shop’s name.
  2. 2Current Shop URL: your Pixalo address. With a custom domain it appears next to it as the primary domain.
  3. 3Branding: choose a logo (200x60 px, PNG, JPG or SVG) and favicon (32x32 px) from your media.

Logo size

You set the logo’s size and position in shop design, separately for desktop and phone.

Company

Under Company you enter the details for invoices, imprint and emails.

  1. 1Legal form: sole proprietor or company. The field names adapt.
  2. 2Business name: only for sole proprietors. Invoices then show it together with your legal name.
  3. 3Country: decides state or canton and the names of the tax fields.
  4. 4Tax Information: tax number, VAT ID and tax office. With Show on invoices you control each field.

Currency

Here you decide which currency you sell in and how amounts look.

  1. 1Currency: euro, Swiss franc, US dollar or British pound.
  2. 2Currency Symbol Position: left or right of the price. The preview shows the result.
  3. 3Number format: 1.234,56 or 1,234.56. Applies to shop, dashboard, emails and PDF invoices.

Shipping

Under Shipping you decide what families pay to ship prints and photo gifts.

  1. 1Charge shipping: switched off, families pay no shipping.
  2. 2How it looks in the shop: examples with your amounts, also for the Free from order value threshold.
  3. 3Photo lab shipping: with a connected lab you see what it charges you per shipping method.
  • Download-only orders are always free of shipping.
  • Bulk shipping to the school is always free for families.

Marketing Emails

Here are the defaults for Reminder emails. Pixalo suggests them when you activate an event.

  1. 1Suggest enabled for new events: decides whether the switch is preselected when you activate.
  2. 2Reminders: after the code email, before closing and on the last day. You set the days.
  3. 3Voucher expires: only the lead time here. You switch it on per photo job.
  4. 4Reminders & conversion: every sent reminder with the orders that came in afterwards.

Existing events

Changes apply to new events. Existing events stay as they are until you change them there. The closing reminders only go out for events with a closing date.

Language

There are two languages: your own in the dashboard and your shop’s.

  1. 1Dashboard Language: only for you. Every team member picks their own.
  2. 2Shop Default Language: language of the shop, customer emails and PDF invoices.

Before switching

From the switch on, invoices and customer emails are created in the new language. Pixalo asks first. Check that this suits your bookkeeping.

Legal

Under Legal you see which contracts you have with Pixalo.

  1. 1Contract version: follows the country you registered in. German law applies.
  2. 2Status: accepted, with date and version. For a new version Pixalo asks for your consent again.
  3. 3Download: the document as a PDF in the accepted version.

Your consent is logged with timestamp, IP address and version, as the GDPR requires.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to save every area separately?

Yes. Every area has its own button. If you switch areas without saving, the changes are lost.

Do I lose my design when switching themes?

No. Pixalo stores your design separately for each theme. A new theme starts with its template. Switch back and your old design is there again. You adjust it in shop design.

Who are prices excl. tax meant for?

Mainly for studios in the US, where tax is added at checkout. In the EU and UK final prices incl. tax are usual.

In which language do families see the shop?

Always in the shop default language. The same language applies to customer emails and invoices.
